This is the part people underrate. It isn't a band on Fridays — it's a different act every single night of the week, booked out months ahead. Solo acoustic guys, duos, full bands. It runs on the deck over the bay, it's free, and nobody checks a ticket.

Local tip: the deck faces west over Choctawhatchee Bay, so the band and the sunset happen at the same time. Get there for the start of the set and you get both.

The Beach Arcade

Inside the Beach Arcade at LuLu's Destin.

Redemption games and old-school cabinets, open from 11am — the same time the kitchen does. That timing is the useful part: since there are no reservations, you put your name in, send the kids to the arcade, and the wait stops being a wait. It's also the answer to a red-flag day or a rainy afternoon.

The one the kids make straight for is the Xtreme Claw — a claw machine that stands twelve feet tall. It's less a game than a landmark; you can see it from across the room and no child has ever walked past it without asking.

Bring a card or cash. The arcade runs on a prepaid card you load at the machine — you can't drop quarters in, and you'll want to sort that out before the kids are already standing there.

Set up on site through the summer, daily 12pm–9pm. This is the thing that buys you an extra half hour at the table — the kids go get braided while you finish a drink, and they come back with something to show off for the rest of the week.

Worth knowing: the Destin location does not have the ropes course or the beach volleyball you'll see on LuLu's website — those are at Gulf Shores and North Myrtle Beach. The site mixes all three locations together, so it's an easy thing to turn up expecting.

You can get there by boat

LuLu's has a soft sand bottom out front, and from 11am daily you can come by boat or jet ski, drop anchor and wade in to the stairs. If you've got a pontoon for the day, this is the lunch stop — you don't need a slip and you don't need to dock.

Gulf coastal — gumbo, fried shrimp, grouper, burgers, tacos, and the frozen drinks the place is known for. The LuLu's World Famous Bushwhacker is the one people order without looking at the list.

No happy hour at the moment. We called and checked on August 19, 2026 — the Destin location isn't running one. If you turn up an old post listing $3 drafts, it's out of date.

Two things on the bill. The Destin location adds a 2% Harbor Town Village fee — a common-area charge that applies across the whole village, not just LuLu's — and parties of eight or more get an automatic 20% gratuity. Neither is a surprise if you know going in.
